The next version of Razer Synapse uses a fresh, multi-threaded architecture that is up to 30% faster. Navigation, independent installations, and settings configuration run on this new layout.
Performance specifications as compared to Synapse 3. Testing was conducted by Razer’s technical team in July 2023 using a desktop with Intel i5 8600K CPU, 8GB RAM and Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 GPU under normal conditions. Actual improvement may be less and can vary by usage, software, power settings, and other conditions.

The file listed on this site is the Windows EXE installer for version 4.0.86, 14.23 MB, recorded 29 October 2025. Razer Insider later published build V4.0.86.2608140202 on 18 August 2026. The small EXE is a bootstrapper. After launch it can pull device modules, Chroma App, and optional extras.

Profile Migration pulled my Synapse 3 macros and Chroma effects in one pass. I still had to re-check two Huntsman bindings, but it saved an evening of rebuilding profiles by hand.

Snap Tap
Snap Tap on a BlackWidow V4 is why I left Synapse 3. FN + Left Shift toggles it. Rapid Trigger is still a hardware feature on analog boards, so do not expect it on every keyboard Synapse lists.

The installer kept Chroma App checked. If you only want Synapse, uncheck the extras or Cortex sits in the tray with another updater you did not ask for.

Tray
After reboot the tray says no devices until I open the full window. Unchecking “minimize to system tray on start up” is a clumsy workaround, but it is the one that survives a restart on my machine.

Yes. Pricing is free. The license is proprietary to Razer Inc. You do not pay for the Windows installer. Optional Razer apps offered in the same installer are also free, but you should uncheck the ones you do not want.
Yes. Synapse 4 supports Windows 11 and Windows 10 64-bit (x64). 32-bit Windows is not supported. Full feature support on Windows 10 ends on 14 October 2026.
No. Installing Synapse 4 uninstalls Synapse 3 for you. Do not run both at once. If you need to go back, uninstall 4 first, then install 3.
The package installs drivers, background services, and a tray app that talks to USB devices. Some security tools treat that pattern as suspicious. Add the Razer folders to exclusions if device detection fails while protection is on, then turn protection back on.
After a session that was logged in with a Razer ID, yes. First-time activation, license acceptance, and software updates still need a connection.
